"Blue for Tony"
www.moonjune.com/MJR029.htm

In 2007, Tony Williams Lifetime alumni Allan Holdsworth and Alan Pasqua recruited Jimmy Haslip and Chad Wackerman for a European tour paying tribute the the late and oh-so-great Tony Williams.  2 years later, we are finally blessed with a double CD containing some of the best of that tour.  This album is smoking!

Chad Wackerman is a particularly wonderful choice and he really embodied the solistic style, aggression and melodicism of Tony William's playing.  Jimmy Haslip is in top fusion form here...  beautiful tone and some of my favorite playing from him (and I love everything he does!)..  he's just on fire here!  Alan Pasqua is a personal favorite of mine (and also an extremely nice guy).  He and Holdsworth are really bringing it here.

I just can't say enough about this album, these are some of the best players on the scene (and have been for decades!) playing their respective a**es of in passionate tribute to one of our (and their) heroes.  Fusion lovers rejoice, the real deal is back!!
